This landed on Nightly 1477985 – Implement pref switch for new awesome bar implementation. I set the pref to true but don't see any change to the URL bar. Anyone try setting the pref to true and see a change?

Bug 1477949 says "UX spec = current design" so there likely isn't supposed to be any user-facing change.

The darn snap-shot icon in the URL is back, something regressed it again I'm guessing. You can remove it, but a restart of the browser brings it back just like a few weeks ago.

Links to what you tested please.

I can confirm this. Did you file a bug? :P

I can no longer file bugs or get bug-mail updates, they have blocked my account due to alledged spam when they later admitted to having issues with migrations of mail. I can't even contact them at all now so I gave up.

I know, I read your post about that last week or whenever it was. I was just poking a little fun.

According to the blocking bugs, it looks like the beginning of a refactor of the URL bar to do more things and get rid of old hooks.
Latest: Firefox/63.0.1 *ESR/60.3.0 - Mobile/62.0.3 - Thunderbird/60.3.0
Nightly: Nightly/66.0a1 - Mobile/66.0a1 - Daily/66.0a1
