Re: Firefox 4.0 TM and JM Performance Thread
Check out the HTML5 vs. Flash challenge. It involves more than just pure JavaScript performance, but shows what can be done with a fast JS engine (and how it might be abused to make dancing, singing ad banners!). Those disks don't look too tasty.

That is still too slow to be playable.

It was a bit slow at certain places, yes, but I played it all the way through without major issues.

That's a great game. Though it doesn't run fast enough yet in Firefox 4 nightlies it does about 14% cpu on Gchrome.

Tbh i half expected things to slow down weeks ago already, but AWFY stills surprises me twice a week.
They wont merge any developments until the release date, just until the code freeze.
Does that makes any different for 4.0? Does that make any difference for AWFY?
@biolab: Works better on 3.6 then a few day old nightly here. Of course I should still try a recent nightly, but even for a few day old nightly it's weird to be slowed then 3.6. Didn't hear any obvious sound problems either.

Does it work faster for you if you turn off hardware acceleration, perchance? If so, can you please file a bug with your graphics card info from about:support?

Apart from the lack of hardware acceleration (slowww FishIE Tank). Javascript seems to be slower on Mac too...
Here my SS result on the same machine,
Win: 380ms v. Mac: 460ms
The heck?

Okay. I just told that JM developments will come into the trunk build until the feature freeze.

Ah, you mean like in, they will NOT come in the trunk build any more after code freeze, so the speed-ups will soon halt. Yeah, that made more sense (not sure what i tried to make of it the first time).WonderCsabo wrote:Okay. I just told that JM developments will come into the trunk build until the feature freeze.
Wont they change it into branch builds around that time?
