Site not working correctly with 4 beta 7 or latest nightly

Hello

When I have used FF 3.xx the site below functions correctly...

if you click on ANY product which has a number of user reviews (denoted by a star rated indication on the right of each product) and then click to read those reviews it will work perfectly well with FF 3.xx or any other browser I have tried (IE / Chrome or Opera).

But if you click on to read those user reviews it will then scroll down the page to reveal them but will always show...

"Review retrieval timed out"

I have the latest nightly of Minefield installed and have also got FF 4 beta 7 as a portable application on another drive to try. Using either of them, even in safe mode with no extensions loaded, the reviews will not show.

with IE after clicking on the 54 reviews I get...



when using the latest Minefield or FF 4 beta 7 I do not get the 54 reviews I get...

I have reported it as a bug but could others confirm their findings please..?

I checked this on beta 7 and the latest nightly build. I saw the reviews for all products that I tried. This may be caused by an add-on, have you running in safe mode?

I have noted in my post that I did try safe mode and ensured that I had disabled all of my addons. In fact this is a newly formatted Windows 7x64 build and I installed only the nightly and nothing else before I checked the Argos website.

I will completely remove Minefield and ensure that all settings etc are gone and then try again.

I see same, 'Reviews timed out...' Nothing in the error console. Works in latest Chrome 9.0.xxx.x build

turning off Hardware Accel allows the Reviews to display.
EDIT: Still working after turning Hardware Accel back on..

On a fresh new profile, it works.

On my current profile in safe-mode, it doesn't.

Go figure.

No hardware acceleration here (Intel card).

I created a new profile and then had to turn off the hardware acceleration and it worked.

Going back to my own profile and trying to turn off the hardware acceleration often produces this...

A brand new install of the latest Minefield though and it still would not work unless I played around with the hardware acceleration setting and then sometimes it would and then would not work.

I can't seem to find a consistency.

Still the same and does not work with the latest nightly. I do report the site and hopefully it will get fixed.

Latest nightly here, all plug-ins up to date, Hardware Acceleration on - no problems with the Argos reviews on any product. Sorry if that confounds even more....

Not really confounds, just shows how inconsistent that it can be as others have reported it not to work (Ajax issue possibly) and others have shown it to work on and off.

For me complete new install of the latest nightly with no extensions and it was working but then it stopped and not worked since

The reviews works for me using the latest nightly.

Also, there are a few javascript errors on that page. A lot of "$ is not defined" and "Argos.page" errors related to the reviews section. The rest are thrown by Lightbox and JQuery scripts.

Strange for sure. My completely new install of the latest nightly just refuses to work, where it did work for one or two reviews and then "zap". I totally removed it and then installed it again but "nada".

Back to Opera.

its a bug in the site itself.

It might well be a bug and that has been Opera's excuse for years to achieve compatibility. But, in this case, it works with FF 3.xx, IE, Chrome and Opera. It did also work with the early FF 4 betas I only noticed it being an issue from beta 6 on.
