Re: Azure Progress
My results with Nvidia GeForce 8400GS:
Benchmark Results:
Latest Nightly with Azure disabled:
Benchmark Score: 398
Average FPS: 9
Latest Nightly with Azure:
Benchmark Score: 704
Average FPS: 15
IE 9:
Benchmark Score: 2502
Average FPS: 53
Google Chrome 14 with HW acceleration:
Benchmark Score: 1588
Average FPS: 34
Why is IE9 so great on this benchmark and Firefox not? (even if we have Azure now)

Re: Azure Progress
Aside benchmarks improvements, are the any visible speed-ups? 'Cause I don't see any.
Hope dies penultimate. What remains till the end is sarcasm. And I have plenty of it.

Cairo is going to be an Azure backend.

Yes, software fallback and printing according to the exposed information available.

Re: Azure Progress
Could somebody compare it with Operas Vega Backend on 7 i find it impressive even being OpenGL (and so early in Lab stage) how it can completely offload the Asteroid Belt demo to the GPU (both Chromium and Firefox need additionally around 27% CPU) and that on XP and also currently the only working XP backend that can do speed reading in 7 seconds
Even Chromes current OpenGL backend in the current chromium 14 is weak on XP in direct comparison not really giving any usable results.
Opera might surprise many once this comes out of Lab state (not sure though how it will do on Vista/7)

Re: Azure Progress
It was just the Direct2D backend for now, I'd only have direct comparisons on Windows 7.

Re: Azure Progress
Its worth it i mean this Lab build is from February and it still beats all the others on XP when it comes to Performant Windows Native coding the Opera guys are really good http://labs.opera.com/news/2011/02/28/

Re: Azure Progress
The Opera preview has trouble with a lot of the HTML5 demos, so many of them are not on the list. Interesting enough, the City Of Videos demo works great in the Opera preview. Anything involving SVG or manipulating text is god awful. (e img) is the IE logo.
(This was done in Win7 64bit - Intel Q6600 - 4GB RAM - AMD HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 - Cat 11.6 Drivers)

Re: Azure Progress
How does additional CPU utilization compare for Nightly 7 and Opera 11.5 on Asteroid Belt for you on 7 ? or better could you also add to your list the CPU utilization ? and doesn't chromium 14 work for you http://build.chromium.org/f/chromium/sn ... Win/90635/ ? (you can force hardware acceleration now via about:flags )

Re: Azure Progress
No dice for that Chromium build. Too much graphics corruption and tests that won't load. It reminds me of Firefox back when HWA was first implemented.
For the Asteroid Test, Opera Preview stayed at 3/4% CPU.Fx7 barely pegged 1%, it stayed at zero most of the time.

Re: Azure Progress
Some more Opera Vs FF tests:
Intel i920 / nVidia GTX 460 -> 275.50 / 12GB
Yes, lot of corrpupcion's graphics, text and SVG performance are very poor, WebGL its very slow too. In my rig, Opera use a little more CPU too than FF.
OmegaX, 0-1% CPU on Asteroids? Average??
