Isn't that exactly what he said?

Most of the people having problems getting it to work were using 32-bit Windows, while most (all?) of the people that got it to work are on 64-bit Windows.

False, im on x86 rtm W8 and cant even run it on metro mode, but it runs fine in desktop mode

That's exactly what I said. x86 IS 32-bit.

I'm hitting this issue now as well. I think its because I installed the VBox Guest Additions. It was working before I installed that.

That's on a virtual machine though. I'm running it natively.

Regardless, it could be the same issue.

Not a single dev tried to fix the issue.
Ok, i can get metro ui in deskmode, but it has lots of missing animations and its pretty slow, compared to my friend's PC that runs fine.

And, why it no support flash/basic plugins like adblock?

Well first of all, not every dev works on the Metro Edition. They all have different teams that manage different internal projects and components.

Secondly, Addons support is minimal because the UI uses the Mobile(Fennec) version of XUL. Metro Firefox uses the mobile framework, not the desktop version while in that mode. They're going to use the Addons SDK for addons support. AFAIK, Adblock is not compatible with the Addons SDK yet. As for Flash and the like, they probably have to port code over to handle it. Internet Explorer's Metro Edition doesn't allow any plugins whatsoever.

Also, I hope you didn't go in IRC guns blazing. That's an easy way to get ignored. You will probably have to contact someone like Brian Bondy or someone else on the Metro Firefox team. He makes regular updates on his blog with lots of info on what's going on with Metro Firefox: http://www.brianbondy.com/

Eh, not quite. It actually ships with Flash built-in, but will only run Flash on sites contained in a Microsoft-maintained whitelist.

I wonder what happened to keeping plugins out of Metro. Well, I guess that trumps that whole purity thing they were trying to go for.

They also claimed W8 would be one OS for phones, tablets and desktops, but that hasn't exactly panned out either.

It starts to open when I click a link in a Metro app (a full blue screen with the logo pops up) but it either crashes or stays there forever.
