Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Now that Firefox 14 is out, and Microsoft have announced the official general public release date
for Windows 8, there ought to at least be a public beta of Firefox for Metro available by now.

Or you could wait for it to be actually usable. And the official release date means they still have three months before it's needed.

I think they're almost ready for a preview release. I think they've got the installers almost working.

Sound promising. Are there any usable Metro/ModernUI builds available among the Nightlies though?

No, it's all still in a separate branch at the moment.

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
For some reason, that doesn't work for me. Does one need the final Windows 8 version instead of the release preview to get metro style browsers to work? I'm having the same issue with the dev version of Google Chrome as well.
Or is it something about upgrading? Do I need to start with a clean install?

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
You have to set one to default and launch it from Metro in order to see the Metro version.

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
I set all the defaults in the default programs control panel applet, but clicking the tile in metro just shoves me back to the desktop. Are you saying there is some way to override that?

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
The steps to get the Metro Firefox running are:
1) Install the elm branch Nightly.
2) Set Nightly as the default for all of it's options in Control Panel
3) The tile in the start screen should change to a new icon, which launches Metro Firefox when clicked.

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
That's the issue I'm having. The tile does not change despite giving Nightly all its defaults. This is the link, right?

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Yeah, that's right. Maybe it does depend on having the RTM Win8 installed...

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Okay, I asked around on IRC, and while no one has definitively said it requires RTM Win8, there's a few people there that say that they also can't get it to work on the release preview.
