Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Any closer to a beta or some kind of usable version of Firefox Metro that doesn't drop back to the desktop?

I won't be using Windows 8 so I will have no need for this.

I am retired and on a fixed income and I have better use for the $40.00. I also think that Windows 8 is akin to Windows ME or worse. If I had a tablet I might have need for it but I don't. So for me it is Windows 7 for the duration. I tried it and I don't like it anyway.

I will never use Windows 8 for purposes other than research unless forced to. Why would you want to use a tablet interface on a desktop or laptop? And for those who say "just use the desktop mode", there's no getting away from metro because M$ removed the start menu from the desktop.

Indeed. While I'm not Metro's biggest fan, I don't mind it too much, and would like to properly try out
the Metro version of Firefox for Windows 8, before it is finalised. I'm sure the OP had never intended
this thread to turn into a Metro love/hate bitchfest. Best to keep that to the general Tech section.

Did I look like I wanted to turn this into a metro love/hate bitchfest? I was simply responding to the person that said there is no reason not to upgrade to Windows 8. No need to get all uppity about it!
