This isn't working for me on my Dell laptop, but it did on my Sony tablet. My laptop has been in use for much longer and probably has some screwy stuff hanging around from previous installations.

Thanks. My HP laptop isn't seeing a difference either.

Did you have the Elm Nightlies installed on it? I used to on my laptop, but I don't think I did on my tablet. Maybe that's the difference?

Also, try looking in the "All Apps" section of the start screen. Metro Nightly's tile was hiding in there on my laptop.

Cheers, rebooted, reinstalled, and then the metro tile was in the "all apps" section.

Scrolling seems very slow though. Changing the number of lines in about:config had no effect.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=841197 seems to cover our problems enabling Metro after updating Nightly.

So then, how do you move the Nightly tile from All Apps to the main Start screen?

In All Apps, right click the Nightly icon, then choose Pin to Start from the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen.

I'm beginning to wonder if you have to have a minimum screen resolution of 1366 x whatever to get the Metro / Modern version to run. This laptop can only go as high as 1280 x 800.

By right clicking on it and pinning it? Or are you saying that's not working?

Also, what's the plan for sharing History and Bookmarks data between the desktop and Metro? Have Mozilla decided if they're just going to use sync or if they're going to share the data between them like IE10 does?

It just didn't appear anywhere on the main Start screen, even (horizontal) scrolling to the very end.
the Nightly tile only appeared when searching All Apps. Context-clicking Nightly on there, and the
bar that appears gives the option to Unpin from Start, even though it wasn't actually pinned.

Simple solution though ... click Unpin from Start, which then changes to Pin to Start ... job done!

So now at last, I have a "ModernUI" version of Firefox installed and working. Now I'd like to simply
re-iterate my earlier post about customisation. I hope in the (not too distant) future that some
level of GUI customisation is added to the "ModernUI" versions of Firefox, where the standard
navigational controls (Back Forward Reload Stop) can be added/removed as the user prefers,
and to have an option similar to (or equivalent) of Use Small Icons on Firefox for desktop.

I've been unable to use the app bar to pin a Web site in Nightly to the start screen. It worked once, but it's never worked since. When I click on the pin button, it appears selected, but a panel doesn't appear to let me create the tile. Is this happening to anyone else.

Hrm, yeah, it worked once for me, but I have the same thing happening now.
