So, this uses a separate profile? I was surprised to find none of my passwords being remembered. Also, how do you set it to open the desktop version by default?

Yes, uses a new profile. You should be able to save passwords, etc, but they don't appear to be migrating from desktop Firefox. New profile locations are here:
C:\Users\WindowsLogin\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\MetroFirefox\Profiles\

If you want to start the desktop version, use a launcher on the desktop, not from the start screen. I'm guessing here, as my start screen launcher still only opens a window on the desktop. Boo.

I mean when opening links from Metro apps, they open in the Metro version even if I have the desktop version open.

Ok, now the Metro app just closes when it tries to open. This makes my issue even worse as I can't open any links from the mail app. Is there a way to disable the Metro version?

Remove Nightly as default. That should turn off MetroFox.

Well yeah, obviously, but I want the desktop Nightly as my default.

FF Metro version its for now in very early stage.

The engine work more or less fine, but UI and most of all features need a lot of work yet

-Changes applied dont save between different instances (save, close, open... and changes are reverted)
-Sync don work fine
-about:config its very buggy
-imput text box dont work well
-Bing default search? oh my god...
-a lot of more

Anyway, its a good beginning.

:D I really like FF Metro.
There are a few bugs but with some time it will be great.
I also tested Chrome for Windows 8 and FF is much better... :D

Where do I get it?
Sorry, but I haven't read the whole thread.

Download a current Nightly build, then set Firefox as the default browser. The tile pinned to the start screen should change from a small icon to a larger icon once Nightly is the default browser. Starting Nightly from the start screen should launch the Metro version.

I have found out why the Metro version often crashes during startup if it was closed or the laptop was rebooted.
It is one line in the prefs.js (in MetroFirefox profile): user_pref("gfx.direct3d.checkDX10", false); causes the error - if it is set to true Nightly will start.
