Yesterday it was Mac, today it is Linux. Is Windows tomorrow? :-k
ETA: This issue was affecting a small number of Windows users as well according to one of the other bugs associated with the bug that was backed out.

9.0.1 include 1 bug backout.
not security/crash fix.

No.
it is not included in 9.0.1

Bug 711794 is fixed by backout of backout of bug 335998, which in turn is bug 708572.

There were a set of toolbars that would cause a crash on start up. Mozilla reversed a change that was introduced in one of the betas. Updates were disabled for OS X and Linux users. They should be enabled currently.
