Can't say that I like this on a dark background - inactive tabs are too hard see.

The bug in question is a windows bug. I think the bottleneck on mac may be the tabs in the title bar bug.

They're waiting for the Windows work to finish up so that it can be ported.

they're all simply mockups.

All Firefox design work is technically "photoshopped" as in it's all built up in Photoshop from a series of templates they have developed. This is why sometimes in mockups you will notice that some details are missing strangely, like window control buttons... so it's not always clear what is intentional and what is just missing in a mockup.

Mockups from Mac as showcase? Why not Windows and its glass?

On Windows 8 it will be fine, I guess, but on glass; I really don't know... I got today's UX build, can I enable the new tabs in about:config?
