So NVIDIA is a piece of sh1t, obviously.

If you opened a support ticket with Nvidia they should have responded. I have an Nvidia GeForce 460 and I have no problem with HWA.

HI

I see that Your problem is bit different from this what We have describe here, in this thread, our problem was only with Firefox HA enabled, once disabled problem was gone, in Your case there is, at least looks like, general hardware problem, when driver is giving TDR in games, desktop etc, then I'm almost 100% sure that this have nothing to do with Firefox.

Also without knowledge about rest of Your PC hardware it is hard to hit You with some tip, so what MOBO, GPU, CPU and most important, PSU (branch and power) , You have?

MOBO: ~0.75 y.o. MSI P67A-GD53 (B3).
CPU: ~1 y.o. Core i5 2500k (no overclocking).
GPU: ~0.75 y.o MSI n560gtx.
PSU: ~3 y.o. 600watts OCZ stealthXstream.

Games rarely caused crashes. Video - well, only 1 video crashes my videodriver. This is a FullHD .ts video (usually my videos are in other multimedia containers).
Firefox - well, yes, I got crashes without HWA too.

Lol, we have almost same config, just I've Palit GTX 460 Sonic, but same CPU and Mobo, did You have try: download Driver Sweeper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/S ... eper.shtml -> Unistall Your driver-> boot system in save mode (F8 after BIOS POST screen) -> run in save mode Driver Sweeper -> check box for nVidia driver-> scan and remove all driver rests from Your system-> boot to normal state -> install latest driver.

Also, did You have try to update BIOS from Mobo and GPU to latest ?

BIOS from GPU? that's something new.

BIOS from Mobo - well, I updated it once, but now it doesn't update anymore from the windows and I lack knowledge (+ am too lazy) to update it from under DOS.

1. This is lame soft: it hangs up when tries to delete some registry entries that it can't delete (neither could I, when tried to delete them manually).
2. All those "cleaners", "boosters" and "accelerators" - they all are crapware, never use it.
3. Anyways, I did like you said and it will now take some time till I get TDR. I will write here when it happens.

Permission errors are a bitch. It's usually possible to fix them by fiddling around with the permissions of the key that contains them and making the keys inside it inherit its permissions.

Whether deleting these values from the registry will actually fix anything though ... I'd say it's unlikely.

Well, their values were path to some files, some of them really existed and I just deleted them.

I've also updated MoBo BIOS now to the latest available version.

How to update GPU BIOS?

If MSI live update don't show any info about VGA Bios then looks like You are on latest, also I've find thread on MSI forums where Guy was with same problem, same GPU, they advice Him to get back to driver 27x.xx, but wait now for results at least for some day or two.

If problem persist then I can't help You any more, sorry...

MSI Live update was delete, as it stopped working properly: it showed the same updates again and again.

Well, it didn't take long: I just experienced a graphics blow up (colored dots everywhere), and when you do 1 mouse click anywhere - it just hangs PC (like a BSOD, that can't be seen).
