Groovy Gregor wrote:I agree, it sucks. For now, as a workaround, you can create "font.name-list" values in about:config for every font type and language you need. For example, to make emoticons at that wikipedia link work create "font.name-list.sans-serif.x-unicode" and set it to "Symbola" (you can add more than one, comma separated).

For me, I have to add "font.name-list.serif.x-unicode" instead of sans-serif. My nightly has font.default.x-unicode;serif by default.

Where can I get a list of suffix for font.name-list.sans-serif.* in case I need it in the future?

Also, can anyone recommend a good alternative?

Seems fine to me. :-k

You could try adding about:memory to Linkification's Blacklist...

Strange, I'll go try a few more things, not expecting to find out anything worthwhile though.
If it fails, I'll just stick with linkify plus, it's a decent alternative.

Thanks for your input.

I am not sure about this. Misbehaving extensions are one of the main sources of user problems. It may not be such a bad idea to have users consciously install all of their extensions again. Who knows what cruft has accumulated over the years.
You can't handle the правда!
