First 64bit PGO build?

Does this mean Win64 builds on

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... est-trunk/

are also PGO now?

Its the same rev as the mc 64-bit nightly so signs point to yes?

I'm going to give it a few days and switch to 64-bit nightly full time.

Yes. It currently is right now.

Its hard to say for sure, but the 64-bit version feels snappier to me.

the waterfox guy (he's a one man band, and a uni. student) uses a different compiler & optimizes the release build (32.0.3). it is ONLY x64. i'm told he also tweaks the code to fix any anomalies caused by using the different compiler (it's intel C++ vs. microsoft, i gather), and adjusts the branding to comply with firefox's third party build reqts.), and fixes any bugs that are reported. he uses a different installer too. he spends a fair amt. of effort on the code to ensure it all works without changing any functionality. i have waterfox as a fallback in case the nightly x64s mess up, it uses my std. default profile seamlessly.

more info if interested at Linky, there are currently 206 pages, so have fun reading!

I don't think there's any great reason to use another distribution if you're just looking for performance - most of that comes from graphics stuff or the JITs anyway, and neither of those are going to magically get better due to compiler optimizations. If you're looking for an old-school UI or other aesthetic choices, that's another story.

Lets get back on topic please. This isn't about the relative merits of third party 64 bit builds. Thanks.

How can be sure that x64 nightlies are now being built with PGO? Is there any easy way to tell?
I have tried the Tinderbox builds and they fly!! If nightlies are PGO ready, i'm switching right now!

It would be great to have l10n x64 builds, I assume they will take some time.

Yep... No PGO stuff there. Maybe something in about:buildconfig tells you if PGO was used. Mine doesn't say anything about PGO but it might be some other thing.

Also running some benchmarks with the PGO build vs the nightly might show a big difference in results which might indicate it is not PGO.
