Reference the new 'jamalloc3' , is there a pref to turn it off ?? or is this a build-time setting ?

build-time...
It checks if it's a Nightly build. Jemalloc 3 will only ride the trains when the devs think it's ready for wider audience.

Still having issues with Import/Export of bookmarks. I did discover that I have a mix of .json and .jsonlz4 files in the same directory. If I perform a backup with the latest as of minutes ago it will create a .json file. Is this what it should create? I thought .jsonlz4 was now correct. Still no luck with .html import. Export works but the file is not useable.

Okay here's one for you folks...

For the last few weeks, I've been having my internet connection just randomly die (the already terrible status of my network notwithstanding, this is on top of that.)

Now, Firefox is almost always open on my computer, and as far as I know, has been every time that I have experienced this (since it mainly interrupts my web browsing, and seems to be limited to HTTP, other connections work fine during this issue)

I'm beginning to suspect it is Facebook related in particular. I have an addon called Tab Data that measures the amount of memory each tab is consuming. I constantly watch Facebook inflate over time, especially when multiple tabs of it are open. I looked into bugs for this and found one about Facebook's Chat constantly telling the browser to refresh the chat, for each tab, causing jank or whatever. When I check eventviewer, the viewer says that all the TCP ports are occupied and it is rejecting requests.

Could a bug with Firefox/Facebook Chat be murdering my connection? Can anyone pretend to confirm this?

Windows 8.1.1 Pro x64
Latest nightlies for a while
Using WiFi

Edit: I have a tendency to findvery specific use case bugs..

Still unable to import bookmarks from an html file.

I have tested on another PC - Windows 7 and it still fails. I used a clean (just created) profile and created a new bookmarks.html with just a few links. Still fails on two PC's - Vista Ultimate and Windows 7.

Id file a bug but can't justify if it works for everyone else. Suggestions?

Have you been testing with the .html file only? Have you tried with a json backup either done manually or from the ones created automatically?

The process for the bookmarks works when using the Restore/Backup procedures but as I indicated it is producing a .json file not a .jsonlz4 file. The export to an html file works.
What does NOT work is the import from an HTML file.

One common element I see from those assisting me is their O/S is WOW64 rather than a 32 bit. Makondo may have the same problem. This worked until sometime around Nov 2014. As TheVisitor noted, it may be a Vista Problem but it did not work on my wifes PC either and hers is Windows 7 but using my files. I will try hers again with newly created files and see what happens.

I tried Makondo's suggestion and it did not work for me.

WOW64 is 32 bit on a win7 x64 bit system.

I have no problem. As i said, it worked for me, i successfully imported my bkms from beta to nightly but only after i copied that places.sqlit-wal file as well.

Must be something to do with wallpaper (.sqlite-wal).

Seriously, did I miss if someone posted what these different file extensions--also the .jsonlz4?--mean? :-k

Image Have no idea but it only worked after i copied that filke in addition to html and places.sqlite (which used to work for me before, that's what i did with 3 or 4 other profiles). I decided to copy that one 'cause the size of it was different from the one in the nightly (the profile i was tryng import my bkms to).
