Firefox 40 and semrush.com

Post by marcenuc »

As suggested by cor-el on Mozilla Support, I am looking for some feedback on this forum.

Starting with Firefox-40 DE, I am having problems using http://semrush.com/ . If I search statistics about a site, Firefox's memory usage suddenly increases and every thing slows down making Firefox almost unresponsive. Using a "New non-e10s" window helps a bit, but it is considerably slower than Firefox-39.

I am using Linux 64bit.

Can anyone do a couple of tests, and maybe report a bug? I am not sure how to do it.

Thanks,
Marcello

And what have you tried as far as troubleshooting the issue?
Fire 750, bring back 250.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.19) Gecko/20110420 SeaMonkey/2.0.14 Pinball CopyURL+ FetchTextURL FlashGot NoScript

I have done the following tests:

- use a "New Non-e10s window"
- start firefox with a clean profile
- start firefox in safe mode
- start firefox in safe mode and with e10s disabled
- start firefox in safe mode, with e10s disabled, and with a clean profile.

The only thing that helps a bit, is to disable e10s, but it is at least two order of magnitude slower than firefox-39. The browser freezes for at least 30 seconds while the page with statistics is loading. In firefox-39 it takes only a couple of seconds.
