FF took over 30 minutes to start up.

Today i had a strange experience. Firefox took over 30 minutes to start up and during this time it constantly accessed permissions.sqlite.
Any idea why this happened? A repair access should not take that long.
Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.
