I don't use Yahoo in any shape or form. However, in another board I follow a person commented that Yahoo Mail was causing their Firefox to freeze and that was on the current release (Fx 39). Given what I have heard from other about Firefox and Yahoo, it is a common theme with Firefox and Yahoo. Of course, there could be other factors involved including add-ons (though I believe they said they only used GreaseMonkey) or out-of-date plugins. I had forgotten about Mozilla choosing Yahoo over Google (and wasn't Bing a default for a bit too) for default search.

I started running Fx42 under Windows 10 in a VM. I'm having the age old problem of trying to pin the Fx icon to the Taskbar. I tried what works on Windows 8, running the program from Explorer and when Fx starts up I pin it to the Taskbar. This doesn't want to work on Windows 10. I get two icons and unpinning either one of them unpins both.

Is this a known problem with Windows 10 or did I forget to do something?

Last few days I have seen this as well, running both 40 beta and 41 FDE. When I see this, I will open a new tab, and type in a google search, and find the google results displayed before Yahoo does. Almost enough to make me want to switch back to Google, but Ill see if this problem continues. I doubt it is due to out of date plugins (I always keep mine updated).

Yeah the plugins I doubt would be an issue on the search, that was more my thinking on the other person's issue with Yahoo Mail. Though on that could be more of a script/image that was taking too long to load.

Two strange behaviors with zoom on the 21 July build on Linux:
1) Control-+ and Control-- work, but not Control-0.
2) When changing the zoom in a private window the zoom of the non-private window also changes.
Both happen in Safe Mode.

Anyone else seeing this? Is 2) new or prior behavior?

Has anyone who still has Yahoo as default search notice any extremely long delays in searches?

Recently doing a search from Fx stalls completely.

Grapevine says this should be fixed either tonight or by tomorrow morning.

Item 1 is gone this morning. Very strange.

The zoom issue is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1089232 . I didn't see it before as I switched computers and don't have the same set of extensions.

The "(Add-on) might be making Nightly run slowly" message started to appear again in recent builds. For those who want to disable this use;

browser.addon-watch.interval - Seems to define the interval in which add-ons are checked.
browser.addon-watch.percentage-limit - Seems to define the load threshold for warnings to be displayed.
browser.addon-watch.ignore - This lists the add-ons that are ignored by the feature. It takes extension names (those listed in the Firefox profile folder under extensions) as values. You will notice two default ignore items: mochikit@mozilla.org and special-powers@mozilla.org.

Are you saying that you clicked "Ignore permanently" in the notification and that choice isn't permanent?

Sounds like you need to file a bug report.

Setting browser.addon-watch.interval to -1 should disable this completely.
