Is Firefox Translation UI dead?

Post by The Timmy »

Does anyone know if this is still being worked on or not? Lately I find myself reading more and more non-English pages, and most addons I have tried feel much worse than Chromiums built in translation feature, so I usually just open the pages in Chromium instead. Would be nice to see this get finished so Firefox had a similar well implemented feature baked in.

I always have https://translate.google.com/?hl=en#auto/en/ bookmarked, so it's not the big issue for me.
I also think they're many better extensions, compared to internal integration in the future, basing on past events and on what we always seeing.

EDIT:
We don't know the proper answer.
But looking on tracking bug, we can see clearly it's in limbo and forgotten area.
Maybe it was forgotten due to changing search provider from Google to Yahoo.
Who knows ;)

Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.
