Maybe network is slow. Because Chrome and IE11 also same. And disabling Anti-Virus does not change anything.

the websites load reasonably fast enough for me in F22 using ff39

Define reasonable.

On my machine in Nightly on a 50Mbit connection, it loads in 5-6 seconds. In IE and Chrome that page loads practically in one second. What is Gecko doing wrong that the competition can load the same website in a fraction of the time.

Do you use adblockers? Addons? With Firefox for me, in the UK, it loads ford.com in <1s

Without JS the site loads in an instant for me, with JS enabled it takes quite a while.
