Beta w e10s active injures NoScript

As far as I can see, activating e10s in the current beta prevents the NoScript 2.7 bar from appearing.
Although every day is Judgment Day, I nonetheless feel like a room without a roof.

Good, I guess.

Nightly with e10s turned on doesn't cause the problem.

I filed Bug 1229463

I am not surprised:

bug 1058542 (e10s-noscript) [e10s] "NoScript" add-on does not work with e10s
was opened 2014-08-26.

Giorgio Maone, the author of NoScript, is well aware that NoScript does not
work properly when you enable e10s.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1058542#c3
and other Comments by Giorgio Maone in bug 1058542.

I have commented in bug 1229463 and have asked JoeG to close it as
as duplicate of bug 1058542.

I also said I would add to this thread.

Giorgio Maone has been helping Authors of other Extensions to get their
Extension working using e10s.

See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis/M ... 2015-04-02
and all the Electrolysis Meetings since April 2015, that are linked there.

He is keen to get e10s (Electrolysis - multi-process Firefox) enabled on Release.
However, he can't get NoScript working with e10s.

I am certain that if he had got all aspects of NoScript working correctly
with e10s he would have announced it and closed bug 1058542.

As I rely on NoScript and my 'normal browser' is Aurora / Developer Edition
I have (more than once) 'switched off e10s' because I know that NoScript
does not work properly.

I 'switched off e10s' by 'un-ticking'
"Enable multi-process Firefox Developer Edition" in
about:preferences#general

Additional information:
I support several users - all on Windows 7.
All browse with Firefox Release (or Firefox ESR) Profiles with NoScript installed.
Nearly all the profiles (more than 30) also have
RequestPolicy [or RequestPolicy Continued (RPC)] installed as well.

Some profiles are ONLY used for specific sites / functions.

For example, some Profiles have been set up for using web mail ALONE.
The NoScript and RPC whitelists are specific to the 'web mail' function.

I personally use Aurora / Developer Edition as my main browser: again with
several Profiles in regular use (plus some 'just for testing').

Since we started using NoScript and RP/RPC on all Profiles
we have had:

* faster web browsing
* very few adverts are seen (adverts often need JavaScript and/or requests to other domains)
* no malware (in the widest sense of the word) - more than 30 person / years of 'no malware / PUPs'.

NoScript is a vital part of our defences.
Unless and until Giorgio Maone declares that NoScript is working correctly with e10s
I'm not going to use Firefox with 'e10s enabled'.

If you are relying on NoScript please be aware that it does NOT work correctly with e10s.
