Please use download.mozilla.org to retrieve the latest Firefox ESR.

For example, if you wish to download the US English installer for Windows (32bit)
the url is

Code: Select all

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-esr-latest&os=win&lang=en-US
*one version earlier, there was an error w/teh (x64) ftp download link being unavailable (that was fixed rather quickly, due to the new version emerging); however, who's in charge of this mess?! :))

And, how can we contact them - anybody -maybe- know the (ftp) administrator email address, pls?? (I mean, what could it be; best guess??)

P.S.
The problem had been w/the 64bit, if anybody else caught it @https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/rel ... README.txt
Please use download.mozilla.org to retrieve the latest Firefox release.

For example, if you wish to download the US English installer for Windows (32bit)
the url is

Code: Select all

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-latest&os=win&lang=en-US
This could be pasted into the location bar of a browser, or used with curl or wget, e.g.
wget -O FirefoxSetup.exe "https://download.mozilla.org/?product=f ... lang=en-US"

For other operating systems replace 'os=win' with:
Windows 64bit os=win64
x64 was -previously- missing!..:)

Edit: & just to be clear, even though it's so far off-topic - it's NOT the 64bit ESR Firefox; that does not exist!..

Code: Select all

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-esr-latest&os=win64&lang=en-US
404 page not found
^^ That's perfectly fine.
pls disregard my (previous) disillusioned ff => 4.x posts, tnx. I've embraced it; apologies.

That information is in the README.txt that you linked to:

> Mozilla Release Engineering
> Email: release-engineering at lists.mozilla.org
> Web: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/mozilla.release.engineering

(And there is no [longer] "ftp".
And yes, they are totally screwed up, with no sense of direction.
And have had plenty of breakages of late.

But you've got to figure they'll get it straightened out, at some point.

Should I mention that things like EME-free "builds are provided on a 'best effort' basis".)

Since there are now 64-bit releases, the associated README.txt's should reflect the current situation.
(I didn't look to see if they do?)

Code: Select all

https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-latest&os=win&lang=en-US
-or-
https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-latest&os=win64&lang=en-US
(And then I'm not clear on where you're going with your post?)
