Does anyone know what's this stupid BS about?
Image

I get this every time I drag and drop and AMO install button to install that addon, or pressing enter for any addons direct url on AMO. Or when I drag/drop an addon from my file manager to the firefox window.
Apparently mozilla doesn't let it's own website install addons...

Calm your attitude. Maybe options - security - Warn me when sites try to install addons?

Well, I have that disabled.

According to this it was implemented in an inaccessible bug. God forbid anyone figures out why they did this nonsense. Apparently there's no about:config setting for this either

It's also inconsistent. If I drop an addon on a new tab or the tabbar I can install it on my main profile, but not in my test profile. Dropping on the about:addons works for both.
Loading from the urlbar doesn't work for either....
(I have xpinstall*required settings turned to false on both.)

Maybe related or due to this bug ?
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1249074 When sideloaded add-ons are present when creating a new profile the user will be offered them on startup

Does anyone make an aurora build without the dev edition crap?
It creates (spams) a new profile on every start of the profile manager. It also preselects it whether it's newly created or not, so the normal mru functionality is lost. It craps in the theme of every profile started.
I don't know how Mozilla expects anyone to use this abomination.
