upgraded from v45 to v46 beta1, get an error on start
When i close it the firefox.exe process ends. There is no way for firefox to work properly. I had classic theme restorer installed in v45 btw but with still using australis, not sure if this is responsible for the error or not.

Can you start up in Safe Mode?
Is "sync tabs" an extension you use?
If you disable it, can you start normally?
From safe mode, if you change the theme to FF's default, can you then start up normally?

Re: upgraded from v45 to v46 beta1, get an error on start
no, i don't have an extensions called "sync tabs". I tried using safe mode but i still get the same error. I don't want to delete my profile so i am going to have to re-install firefox 35 and see if my tabs that load on startup are there, my favourites, saved passwords etc.
EDIT: Re-installing firefox 45 has brought back everything, i then disabled classic theme restorer and all other extensions then upgraded to firefox 46 and i still have the same problem.
My firefox is set to launch all tabs on startup and to load then at once rather than when they are clicked on, i have about 50 tabs that load. I guess firefox 46 beta 1 does not like that for some reason.

Exactly the same problem here. Same error message, but if I uninstall v46 and re-install v45 then everything returns to normal.hajj_3 wrote:no, i don't have an extensions called "sync tabs". So basically v46 is totally unusable on my system as it can't startup same error box as the OP.
The only extensions I have are Adblock Plus, BBCode Extra and Download Status Bar. Running Windows 10 Home x64.

Maybe sync-tabs-menuitem2 has something to do with new Synced Tabs feature? You can place Synced Tabs button on the toolbar, however, I don't know to check its id.
Sorry for my poor English.

You've got to be wondering why this bug is still occurring when FF 46 beta 1 is up to build 8.
It seems the devs are struggling a bit with this.

The first couple Beta builds of a version can sometimes have minor issues as there are usually six to twelve Beta builds for a version.

I take it you were referring to the Release Candidates builds of 46.0b1 as there were eight.DinGo wrote:You've got to be wondering why this bug is still occurring when FF 46 beta 1 is up to build 8.

Yes, and for me all builds of 46.0b1 have suffered from the same bug.

Thanks. I used the ESR internal update about an hour ago, and it went from v36 to 38. The only way to get v45 was to download it manually.hajj_3 wrote:... ESR is v45, it was released 2 days ago: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/45.0esr/
v46.0b1 Build 8, or did you have the same problem other people in this thread reported?hajj_3 wrote:did what work for me?
