Re: Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,
Well, word it how you like, but there needs to be more going on in a Builds forum other than an endless list of 'The Official (insert date) builds are not yet out' threads. i.e. there needs to be discussion threads. The Tinsmith wrote:I can see it now!!!Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,

We have big changes coming up and, at the moment, those subjects fall under the remit of the Firefox Builds forum and not the Firefox General forum. So, people are going to need at least one thread on those subjects here, even if there's not much to say at this precise moment.

I agree Frank. I was just trying to add a little levity to the forum.

Re: Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,
Good news about Session Manager WE. Luckily, two APIs that Session Manager WebExtension needs has been approved so Session Manager WebExtension will be possible but likely not in 2017.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1378647
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1378651
After these bugs land (and it will take a while because they are Priority 5), Session Manager WebExtension will be able to:
save and restore tab history between sessions (without hacks!)
save and restore list of all opened tabs
restore list of tabs in unloaded state (without hacks!)
restore addon-related data like tab trees using Storage API
Not bad. I've sent Morac an email with all needed APIs, I hope he read it.

Re: Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,
NoScript changelog:
NoScript WebExtension release date confirmed: 2nd August 2017 [That's my stupid joke]. All aboard the hype train Seriously: it seems to me it doesn't make sense to start data migration long before WebExtension is releasedv 5.0.7rc3
x [WebExt] Initiated preference migration via embedded WebExtension

Where did you hear this? People are asking about that on NoScript forum, and we would like to point them to the source if possible. Thanks.GHM113 wrote:NoScript WebExtension release date confirmed: 2nd August 2017.

Re: Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,
That's my stupid joke. I am sorry for confusion! I got hyped so much because gorhill started data migration for uBlock Origin users not long before uBO WebExtension was released. So after I saw NS started data migration too I decided it was likely Giorgio would use the same tactics. I sometimes ask Giorgio on twitter about NS WE release date but he doesn't answer. I guess he simply doesn't know when NS WE will be released. Also, I created this thread:barbaz wrote:Where did you hear this? Thank you for your answer! As far as I understand, NoScript WE should get rid of nsIContentPolicy because AdBlock Plus WebExtension has already got rid of it. Also, as far as I remember, Palant even wrote somewhere blocking content using HTTP observer is the only way in WebExtension world.
Sorry for my poor English.

Re: Old Firefox Extensions Will Stop Working in Firefox 57,
So is the WE for Ublock Origin officially released? Mine still says legacy by it.
