Mouse Wheel

Post by josegotme »

Clicking mouse wheel does not open in new tab but, Ctrl+left click does.

Do you have mouse software from the manufacturer installed?

What mouse are you using ? Wheel options are in the windows/mouse setup options. No way that I know of to force a mid-click from Firefox.

I downloaded their software for the M310 Logictech mouse but, it would not run on my Win 7 computer. I created a case at the Logictech site and they should
be looking into it. Their software has a wheel option control that would solve the problem.

Just what does it do?

(I have not used "mouse software" for ages, & clicking the mouse wheel has opened a new tab, for ages, for me.)

Any number of "mouse" Preferences.
No idea about what any of them do, so as a test, create a new, clean Profile & see what happens in there.

If you don't have Logitech software, or possibly some other mouse program, installed then I don't think the default Windows 7 drivers do anything for a wheel click.

Mouse wheel scrolls. Click does nothing. However, I am having a problem with their software that is causing the problem. I hope to get a fix from them?

What happens in Safe Mode, don't a number of extensions change mouse behavior ?

I'm not quite following the implications of... Implement auxclick, http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3026069.

@therube

The original poster is using Firefox 51.

The auxclick feature is implemented in Firefox 53.

I don't know if it is a good idea to send the auxclick event and the click event when using the middle click button. I know I had to fix a userscript for Chrome 55 because the click event is not triggered for a middle click. Now I have to fix it again for Firefox 53.
