Safe-Mode is screwed up

Post by streetwolf »

When I go into safe-mode I can't get to probably something like 95% of sites. I can get to Wikipedia but not cnn.com. The spinner will just keep spinning on the tab. Even with a new profile I have the same problem. Also the about:support screen has everything missing except the lines with the about: links. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I noticed that yesterday when I was trying to figure out why NBC told me I needed to install the Flash plugin, when I had it installed.

I can't remember if it was my Windows Nightly or Linux Nightly.

Well, I just had a 29.5 MB update on Linux and Safe Mode is still borked.

Here's the regression range.
Bad

Might be Bug 883377

Good

***** I added a comment to Bug 883377 in the chance it is causing the problem.

I see they want you to file a new bug.

If you do, you can add these Browser Console errors, which are the only ones I saw that seemed relevant.

ReferenceError: event is not defined[Learn More] browser-content.js:1772:1

EDIT: The Learn More link did load the page.

EDIT #2: Could be? 1297867 - Measure the amount of scrolling in "session fragment"

I'm on inbound and 1297867 should land shortly. When it does I'll see if it fixes the problem.

Be careful testing this as I just tried safe-mode here on latest m-c hourly and when I started up in Safe-mode I lost my session, totally.... restarting in normal mode revealed that my session was GONE!. I had to dig into the backups to recover.

Which patch fixed it, or was backed out ? I'm not thinking too good here tonight and having trouble trying to keep up. #-o

Being its Christmas week-end I would not expect the fix to land much before Monday or Tuesday.

Surprise... patch was just merged into m-c, so... unless something breaks it should be in tomorrow's Nightly.
