Hardware H264 Decoding in Aurora

Post by Are You A Wiiizard? »

I just checked about:support to find this:
Hardware H264 Decoding | No; Failed to create D3D11 device for decoder; DXVA2D3D9 crashes detected in the past
Looking below I also see:
Crash Guard Disabled Features
Failure Log
(#0) CP+[GFX1-]: [D2D1.1] 4CreateBitmap failure Size(32,24914) Code: 0x80070057 format 0
(#1) CP+[GFX1-]: [D2D1.1] 4CreateBitmap failure Size(32,24914) Code: 0x80070057 format 0
(#2) Error DXVA2D3D9 video decoding is disabled due to a previous crash.
I'm using a HD7970 along with an FX8320. Is there a current bug for this issue? (Sorry I can't check, need to sleep).

There are a bunch of different bugs filed against the the top report - ShutdownKill , not easy to fix it seems there are many flavors...

@nd report is duped to another bug that is a security bug, I can't tell the status.

The 'Failed to Create' I believe has been more of less 'fixed' in the current Nightly builds. I believe they just removed the entry in about:support. I think it was this bug:

Hmm, the shutdownkill bug seems irrelevant, the 2nd one, revolving around media could be the culprit. Also, bug 1292498 is an old bug, shouldn't that be fixed in Aurora by now?

Oops, yeah 1292498 likely is in Aurora by now. I lose track since I only run Nightly's.
