dunno if there's any point in suggesting to use Classic Theme Restorer when its gonna be Dead in another nightly release ( 56 or 57 ) so IMO users need to get used to it now rather than later. its the same with myself, i used to use 5 Extensions, now down to 3,

I expect many will stop updating at 57, or use a fork that allows xul addons.

why would you close its Window? one would automaticallty think Download(s) stop.

Or not... The internal downloader never stopped, nor do most external downloaders, by default.

Unable to use Twitter with today's Nightly build. Clicking the Tweet button causes Nightly to pop a message saying "A web page is slowing down your browser." If I don't click "Stop It", Nightly uses 100% of the CPU and memory usage climbs steadily.

After 57 it will still be possible to run low-level code in Developer Edition and Nightly, via WebExtensions Experiments. It’s not quite an off switch like we have with signing, but it’s one way to run something like legacy add-ons. However, you should be aware that most legacy add-ons will break after 57, regardless. There are big changes coming to Firefox (some of which we aren’t talking that much about yet) that will break legacy add-ons anyway. 57 is not an arbitrary goal, but a fairly hard deadline.

This hasn't shipped in a nightly build yet since it was merged to mozilla-central after the 2017-03-31 nightlies were created, but bug 1145470 has broken uBO (won't even load).

The error in the browser console is:
Security Error: Content at resource://gre-resources/hiddenWindow.html may not load or link to chrome://ublock0/content/background.html#1.11.4.
