I can't even imagine what I'd need 77 addons for. I mean I could reach that number, but I doubt if that's really rational. And I doubt there's a single browser that wouldn't have problems with those numbers sooner or later...

Some prefer to customize their browser to theirs needs to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.

Yes I "Foxified" it but while the icon showed up on Fx55 as well as it's menu it failed to change my icons. Fx55 uses 'favicon.sqlite' while Chrome uses just 'favicons' (It's still sqlite) as their DB's. I made a copy of 'favicons.sqlite' and changed it to just 'favicons'. No luck. Using an Sqlite DB reader there are differences in the two DB's. Names are different also. Probably at least one reason Foxifying it doesn't work. But the point is it changes the chrome on Google Chrome. Hopefully the same sort of add-on will work on Fx57+.
I don't think webextensions have direct assess to favicon database files or any files at all. It must be using some API.

What do you think? They're all useful. It kind of sucks do something in a more cumbersome inefficient way if you found something superior. That's why I won't upgrade to v57.
I actually cut down the number from a 100 around half a year ago, by weeding out those I didn't really use. (But I also have a bunch of user scripts too. :) )

Half of them could be, should be the browsers internal features, but sadly they aren't (some with ignored bugzilla bugs for them). Others are useful features removed from the browser.

Try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... clipboard/ which uses Webextensions to replace CoLT. The developer is very receptive to any questions or ideas you might have on his add-on.

Speaking of addons. I just realized form an exported list of enabled addons, that there's a bunch of crap there I don't recognize.
  • Activity Stream 0.0.0 Application Update Service Helper 2.0
  • FlyWeb 1.0.0
  • Form Autofill 1.0
  • Multi-process staged rollout 1.50
  • Pocket 1.0.5
  • Presentation 1.0.0
  • Shield Recipe Client 51
  • Web Compat 1.1
  • WebCompat Reporter 1.0.0
So how do I disable/remove/manage these?

Edit: Looks like there's a full 10 of these crap. I blocked the .\browser\features\ folder and suddenly I only have 67 extensions enabled...

These are all Mozilla built in add-ons if you want to call them that. They are located in your FX folder under browsers > features. I don;t think deleting them here will permanently get rid of them. The next Nightly update will probably bring them back. However, if you use CCleaner CCleaner - The world's most popular PC cleaner & optimization tool - Piriform it has an option to disable/enable these type of add-ons and plugins which will persist.

Persist? How? If it just removes the files what will keep them gone on the next update?

Here's mine. I was able to insert into textbox using "Nightly Tester Tools". Most of these are disabled, either because I was just trying something out, or not currently using it, or the Firefox program itself disabled them at some point in the past.

Ones I liked and wish could come back were RSS Ticker, Forecastfox, ListZilla, text/plain, Save Complete, Sort Tabs, FLST, Update Channel Selector. I wish the text/plain and all the print ones were built right into the main program. Some of them have just been surpassed by newer technology, etc. A lot were just trials that I never got rid of.

CCleaner puts them in 'permissions.sqlite' I think it is, with a flag to block each add-on you disable. So installing a new Nightly will still keep them disabled.

I see. I took a while to find the feature. Is there no free version of CCleaner anymore? Downloading what was claimed free gave me a free trial...

Thanks! Installed that extension and will give a shot.

BTW, I also have the System add-ons, just edited them out of the list.

System Add-ons Overview — Mozilla Source Tree Docs 55.0a1 documentation

If you look at Troubleshooting Information in Nightly, you see them listed as Nightly Features, separate from Extensions.

I can't reproduce this problem on my computer. What addons do you use?
Sorry for my poor English.
