Some recent failure of firefox playing an 50 fps video got me thinking. Which codec and which version does firefox use to decode VP9?
I settings such as media.ffvpx.enabled;true and media.wmf.vp9.enabled;true, so it can be anything. About:support is completely devoid of any information on this.
On Bugzilla I see bugs for upgrading to libvpx 1.6.0 and adding ffvp9, further complicating things.
@ avada - Mozilla Firefox on desktop platforms is using FFmpeg decoder named ffvp9, instead of Google decoder named libvpx which is slower (or was) and was used in past in Mozilla Firefox.
"media.wmf.vp9.enabled" preference controls VP9 hardware acceleration.

I seems to have problem with pandora.com music application:
- when you go to pandora.com the first song usually starts ok, but toward the end it seem to be play 2 audio stream together (different songs).
It is happening only on my workstation even with a new profile, on my laptop with a slower cpu it does not happen.
Could somebody check if the pandora app works fine for them.
