What in the world is going on with the last nightly? I'm getting processes locking up tabs all over the place!

I have had to revert to the prior nightly. The latest is unusable on my computer. Please do let me know if anyone else is seeing anything similar.

No problems here. Installation lasted an eternity however, it ran for at least three minutes.

No problem here too, probably some extensions related issues.
Virtualfox persona

Are you ready for deprecation of XUL & XBL & XPCOM extensions? Not?! Try Firefox ESR

Do you happen to have any of the following addons installed? Trying to figure this out to see if it's just me or not.

  • Bugzilla Socorro Lens
  • DevEdition theme enabler
  • Ghostery
  • HTTPS Everywher
  • LastPass
  • uBlock Origin
  • YouTube High Definition

Edit: After testing at length it's not an addon issue - I'm currently sitting here with none of them enabled (after a browser restart to be sure) and the issue is still very much present :(

No such problem here but I can say my Nightly might hang sometimes because of Kaspersky.
I am an idiot. Sorry for my poor English. Current list of config tweaks: https://pastebin.com/1dCT4Cvp

I'm getting a process locked forever with high CPU usage - like this:

Image

I've got to manually kill the process before things go back to normal. This is without any extensions enabled so it's definitely not that.

No but it's something I've got on my list of things to try.

As the addons were all disabled it shouldn't make much difference.

It happens if you have flash or something similar loaded.

As suggested above, tested this with a completely clean profile and it's reproducible.

I loaded my session from the other profile, quickly switched between tabs while they were loading and boom - process lockup. I've filed this as bug 1371387 if anyone else can help debug this, I'd welcome some suggestions. I attempted to use WinDBG to get a stack and it did - though the minidump file is a whopping 800MB.

If that landed between the 07 and 08 nightlies then it's certainly possible. I found it seems to happen more on sites using HTTPS. I did see a handshake message down in the status during one crash so... who knows. I could ping smaug to see if it could be related.

I just checked FF stable end beta and was shocked that webm/vp9 is disabled by default? Any particular reason that they left "media.mediasource.webm.enabled" is false by default?
Why have it implemented (for years now) if you block users from using it?
