Using a small & simple tool AppReadWriteCounter I found out that Firefox wrote over 8 Gigabytes to disk over half a night with 1 tab open (a simple static forum, thus not anything video related).

(...and that is with browser.sessionstore.interval set to 900000)

Does the forum page reload automatically? If it reloads it would be interesting to know how often and how much is fetched each time.

If the page doesn't auto-reload that sounds like a serious problem. What's the Bugzilla bug number?

No, it's simply a daily firefox nightly build thread over here.

Using process explorer i can see that in 6 hours i have 6,2GB i/o reads and 5,6GB i/o writes.
