I click to download a file and it does not go to the assigned directory, instead it goes to the Temp folder.
I do not always get the option to save or open, instead it attempts to install directly. Sometimes I
get the option to save or install. Crazy!!! On some programs it function well, on others it does not
behave normally. FF beta 6

Re: Firefox going crazy
Any particular reason you are working with a beta version of Firefox rather than the current release version (64.0)?

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Re: Firefox going crazy
temp folder and installation are tied. you need to change behavior in firefox settings to that file typeI click to download a file and it does not go to the assigned directory, instead it goes to the Temp folder.
I do not always get the option to save or open, instead it attempts to install directly.
settings > general > applications
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ch ... -open-file
and/or take download options (shown as picture)
and no, i dont have a clue why it changed for your profile, firefox wont do that from alone.

It downloads to the Temp folder, not the one specified.

I got it fixed. Somehow things got changed in Options/Application/Content type. How that happened is beyond me but, it is fixed. Thanks for suggestions.

Re: Firefox going crazy
I've also seen some issues with locations for saving downloads, though nothing I can document at the moment. Just wanted OP to not feel they were the only one.
