browser.taskbar.previews.enable not working

Post by Rigido »

Hi,
I swear I did a lot of search but can't find any recent issue about it:
With latest builds (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 ID:20190327175114), when I set to true the browser.taskbar.previews.enable option (by about:config or Preferences panel) Windows 10 (1809, build 17763.379) taskbar shows as many thumbnails as open tabs all with a spinning wheel and no previews.
Single preview of the current selected tab works.

It is a new issue or should I try harder with search functions? :-k

Thanks
Ciao,
Rigido.

Bug 1539311 - Windows Preview per Tab is broken
The issue was mentioned in a daily thread few days ago.
It should have been fixed in 03-28 build. (But I am stuck at 27th build?)

I just installed the latest build for today from the archives and I don't see but one tab when I hover over the Nightly Icon in the 'Taskbar' - am I doing something wrong ? I have double checked that browser.taskbar.previews.enable is set to 'true', even restarted the browser... nada only the active tab is shown in the Taskbar.

I did get the same bugged issue as OP (spinning wheel with that option enabled) when I replied.
Now I get the same result as yours but I am still using the same build... #-o

Tested a clean profile and the previews show, slight delay with spinning, but 3 tabs eventually filled in. This feature does not really interest me enough to build a clean profile, or go looking for the setting that maybe blocking it.
