I do like the rework of the hamburger menu. The tabs bug me, though.

Also, there now appears to be almost no difference between the Default theme and the Light theme, except that the Light theme leaves the URL and search bars grey when not focused, which is still really ugly. (I'd filed a bug about the breaking Light theme a week or so ago, with the partial changes.)

It's at least easier to see which tab the mouse is hovering over (and which one is currently active, which the partial implementation completely broke), but in the unfocused state everything just blurs together in one solid mass of color.

Edit: Oh, and sites that don't have a favicon (either naturally, or because of loss after a crash/reload or whatever) don't have a default icon provided, making parts of the tab bar look like one long string of text.

Edit2: I was thinking the tab bar was a bit taller than before. I see now that it allows text notifications under the tab title. When I opened a YouTube video in the background, below the tab title is the text, "AUTOPLAY BLOCKED". I'm not sure what all they may intend to use it for, but it does seem like an improvement in the notification system.

Is anyone happy about these tabs? lol

I'm not even sure how that passed sketch phase since it's obviously detrimental to ux by making it harder to distinguish between background tabs.

Anyhow... I guess it's time to see if Firefox still support themes.

Firefox will always support lightweight themes an Extensions. no one is stopping you or anyone by installing an Extension to go back to firefoxclassic

Yay, less screen estate to display web pages, that's EXACTLY what everyone was waiting for! They also added the "Not supported" annotation for compact density: https://i.imgur.com/9yOhaky.png

What an absolute joke. I don't mind UI changes, but not respecting user preferences is super-lame.

I have no issue with the tabs. They weren't related to the toolbar they were attached to anyway, but can sympathize with the users that wanted them attached to the page and under the toolbars.

It may be that I don't use tabs in the browser the same as you do.

I can tell which one of my 25 tabs currently open is active at the time I'm using it. The tooltip helps me find an inactive one I may want to switch to and use.

These Themes are no longer supported?

On my Linux system I use the built-in Default theme with my systems Adwaita-dark theme.

On Win10 it is the default Win10 theme with the Firefox Dark theme.

@ Snake4 - Maybe you don't know, but real Firefox Themes are unsupported for years, and I'm not talking about just only background image-like skins, like it's now with old Persona / Light Themes, which are named now "Themes".

No dividers between background tabs in big mistake and UX issue.

Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.
