Most likely a Windows 10 issue but was Firefox's GPU memory always bogus in task manager? https://i.imgur.com/BYrp95E.png

It's a column you can show by right-clicking the column headers in the details tab.

On my Windows 10 system I'm seeing realistic numbers. I have difficulties getting it up to even 1 GB, I need several UHD videos playing for that. Anything special you were doing before that value?

Nah, happens no matter what I do but I do have gfx.canvas.accelerated enabled and WebGPU. It just keeps growing: https://i.imgur.com/vzGZ2gE.png

Oh yeah, that's about 5,000 times more than what it shows for me right now. Interesting. You must have one hell of a monster system. :D

I have both enabled, too. Well, obvious candidates for causing such oddities are graphics drivers, but something tells me that you're aware of that and are up-to-date in that regard.

It's an RX570. It shoots up rapidly when opening anything with WebGL(2?) for example: https://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html . From what I can tell I don't think it's actually leaking memory, just the reporting is completely bogus.

I can reproduce what you're seeing with the WebGL Aquarium on a GTX 950, so it's not a driver thing, and it's also independent of canvas being accelerated or not. It indeed doesn't seem to affect the system at all, as evidenced by the corresponding value in the GPU section of the performance tab, which is rock stable at the same time.

So it's either bogus as you say, or it's some kind of virtual GPU memory that doesn't have a representation in physical memory (in which case it probably still shouldn't rise to astronomic heights, but anyway).
