Ewok - Win32-SSE2 2003-12-16 *with save-as fix*

Post by Ewokuk »

Made this build with VC2003 with -Oxs -G7, its compatible with all plugins, is SSE2 optimized (P4 only) and includes all the fixes checked in up to 11:00 GMT, including all of ben goodgers fixes which includes the save-as fix and the fix for the download manager creating a directory with the same name as a downloaded file.

The only remaining majorbug for this build is the bookmark manager getting wider every time you press the arrow.

Smells like this file is corrupted. It is far too small. My builds are 4.7 Mb 7zip file. This one is only 3 Mb.

The file is corrupted no doubt.

Download is 3.1 MB but I got the same error message. Not a lot of SSE2 builds so I 'll wait for one.

Just downloaded it. 580 KB/second. What a server!

Played around with it for about 10 minutes and it seems fine. I did notice the YES/NO buttons are in the lower left-hand corner now whereas before they were in the middle near the bottom. Performance seems comparable to 12/6 which was my previous stable version.

Hmm. . the server was really slow for me. Also, it does seem like rendering speed is a bit slower than my previous build which was aebrahaim's SSE2 build from the 4th.

My previous was 12/6 SSE2 from aebrahim as well. It certainly doesn't feel faster. I suppose it could be slower. Fast enough for my needs though.

its static. it should be the same as aebrahims SSE2 builds as its built on vc2003 with the same -Oxs -G7 SSE2 that he uses so it wont be any slower or faster than any of his unless i change to -O2 which makes it bigger and possibly not any faster anyway, or unless theres some checkin that isnt in his which makes it slower but thats unlikely.

i normally only make builds for myself when i see some checkins that will affect my browsing, and theres lots of people making builds now so i dont bother posting mine unless theres an important checkin and nobody else has yet made a build with it. only takes me 36mins total for clobber build though so i can usually get my builds out quick if im around and spot the checkins.

580kb/sec? is that all? :P

My office has some pretty heavy-duty bandwidth. My home DSL goes up to about 180 KB/sec and I was using Star Downloader. I could tweak it to increase the number of threads. My hardware can handle much higher speeds. Most I've seen is about 6 MB/sec on my home LAN.
