I just noticed on bonsai that the URL dropdown menu is back in the 0.8 branch (but not the trunk). Also, the bug in 0.8 that causes a crash after installing two XPIs has been fixed.
Edit: These have also been checked into the trunk now.

The XPI crash is still in my new (depend) build. New profile didn't help; I'm making a clobber build to see if that helps.
Yeah, one of the patches I build with adds that line back into browser.xul, too.
Thanks. I'll edit my original post.

Both of these changes were checked into the trunk a couple of hours after they were checked into the branch.
Sounds great. Thanks for the info.

How does it happen? Is there an easy way to reproduce the problem? Was the URI history dropdown disabled in order to work around it?

All you do is install two XPIs without rebooting. After installing the second one, Firebird crashes (bug 228986). I don't think it has anything to do with the URL dropdown; they were just patched at about the same time.
