I just started using it and all seems good, but I do have a question...

The red lizard icon is gone, the one that should be in the top left-hand corner of the Phoenix window and in the Phoenix tab in my taskbar, it isn't there, what is there is a Windows icon, the one with the four colored corners, looks like a flag.

Why is it doing that? Is it just me, or something in this build?

Maybe to tell if you got the windows build or linux version.

Please bring back the lizard.

Also for me, on Win98SE. Looks like the icon file was misplaced/not referenced/damaged or something. The Windows Flag is the generic icon that is used by your machine in those situations. I figure it'll be back next build, so I didn't look further. Also, this machine is pretty well futzed up, so I thought it could have been me.

The familiar red icon still appears on the desktop. I have Phoenix in my quick launch collection, and the dragon is still there, too. I noticed its absence from the tray of open program icons, but till someone mentioned it, did not notice that the Windows flag also flies in the upper left corner.

Personally, I don't care one way or another.

Why not getting rid of the red "Lizard" ?

For those who haven't seen it, the Phoenix icon is a blue (edited : or red) bird with wings spread, and NOT a red lizard...

IMHO, any reference to the "Lizard" should be replaced with the actual "Phoenix" icon anyway.

In Mandrake Linux, I get the Phoenix icon in the menus, kicker bar and desktop links (no Lizard whatsoever), but still get the "X" (for X Window) on the task bar.

Couldn't we get the Phoenix logo for the task bar as well ?

Anyway, the Phoenix browser is getting better every night ! (a little icon issue is a non-issue, really).

... I may stop using Opera altogether very soon...

Click on 'help/about phoenix' and see the true color of the bird.

Flame red on my copy. :mrgreen:

Well, you're right about the red version of the icon, but I prefer the blue one : same bird, light blue within a dark blue circle.

Takes Phoenix away from the Mozilla confusion... IMHO.

Red must be a Windows thing (I'm gonna check it out on an old Win98SE machine I've got laying around, somewhere).

Anyhow, the blue icons are provided by default for my various other systems.

Mandrake Linux 9.0, Peanut Linux 9.3, Phoenix 0.4 + nightly builds.

(... just a question of taste, I guess...)

Are you saying that the icon I use in my Avatar is the default on linux builds??

Exactly !

In fact, I had never seen the red logo until I recently viewed the "About Phoenix" window.

Anyone else getting the blue icons ? (or is it just me through unknown circumstances...)

Well this is good news! I'd really love that icon to be the default. Maybe they're testing it on Linux only? Nah, why would they? Hmm..

Anyway, it's a very pretty icon. I'm using it myself.

I'm going to use IrfanView to snag that bird and convert it into an icon file.

You can even make it blue with IrfanView.

IrfanView is freeware. :mrgreen:

The only default icon I could get was the red lizard.
