Thanks for filing this. I feel A bit strange, what you said in filing this :
open FF with a new profile got to http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly click in the install link FF asks you to ad the url to the whitelist result it shows the word "install" in the whitelist field if you change it to "www.oxymoronical.com" and hit enter you crash.
But this WFM, I mean, I managed to add www.oxymoronical.com to the whitelist and then install NTTools extension.
What I came across is the crash on opening an xpi file, does this happen to you?

Hmm, I tried with the latest nightly, new profile and I couldn't crash anymore

I did try the crash opening a local XPI and got a breakpad report:

Just installed the
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007082215 Minefield/3.0a8pre Hourly and noticed that it's finally broken tabs in the theme I was using. Damn the default one is pretty plain.

Is there a bug open somewhere on this or a place to make comments?
My main issue with this is the Recommended add-ons. The title of this section is very confusing to Joe Average user. If it is recommended i better install it because they say it should. And is it recommended that you not install those not on this list?
If they are really recommended for users to install then they should just be included int he product so that is obviously NOT what is meant so recommended is NOT the correct word here at all.
Edit: I think suggested is the word they are looking for here.

If you are referring to waiting for the Add-on Manager to open because of having the added portion, I mentioned that in my comments on the discussion page. That's not going to be looked upon favorably.
To me, it's just too many bells and whistles it's UI overload. Personally wish they would concentrate on speed and some of the Long term bugs like Printing. And I don't see what they are doing is going to improve speed, just the reverse in fact. It maybe OK in an ideal location with New hardware and very fast connections but thats not the real world.

Add your thoughts to the discussion page on the wiki. Hopefully, the more comments like ours, the greater the likelihood of them rethinking and dropping such unnecessary "bells and whistles."
