aebrahim: Win32 2004-03-08 Nightly Zip/7zsfx/Installer Build

Post by aebrahim »

Please note that this build contains the following bugs which may cause Firefox to crash:
Bug 236607: Crash when choosing File | Import
Bug 236673: Firefox crashes if there is no profile (import wizard dialog appears)

I built Mozilla Firefox today from CVS with Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0.

Zip / Self Extracting EXE Build:
http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/aebrah ... 040308.zip (6.45MB - zip)
http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/aebrah ... 040308.exe (4.89MB - 7z sfx)

Installer Build:
http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/aebrah ... 040308.exe (6.19MB)

checkout start: Mon Mar 8 01:27:29 PST 2004

You can find a copy of these builds (and my older builds) on pryan's mirror:
http://pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/aebrahim

My .mozconfig is as follows:

. $topsrcdir/browser/config/mozconfig
ac_add_options --disable-tests
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --enable-optimize
ac_add_options --enable-static
ac_add_options --disable-shared

This build is still optimised using the default flag -O1 (as in the official builds), but just not to the processor specific level, so it's not optimised for a particular architecture or SSE/SSE2.

Aside from those outstanding bugs, the UI is still flaky. The underline in the main menu gets cut off and the Help->About Mozilla Firefox window gets resized after the initial loading of Fx.

I have the flaky UI as well, and regardless of what I do, I can't crash this build for File|Import bug. I use the default theme.

I get an option panel that is way much too narrow the past three nightlies from Mozilla.org and aebrahim's archive, and once when saving (OK) a change in the privacy panel, it cleared all open tabs, removed the history from the Back and Forward buttons, and greyed out the back and forward buttons. I had to close down and restart to get the buttons back to a selectable condition.

Hey, Aebrahim, appreciate your work. Just a quick question for ya if you can answer. Why have you stopped building optimized builds? I really used to love your GL7 SSE Firebird builds.
