Best Pre-Download Manager Firebird Build?

Post by tksh »

Odd question but I've given FF 8 a try and don't really like it so looking to downgrade back to FB 7. Personally, I hate the new download manager and its "All files finished donwloading" messages so I'm looking for a build that's older than 27/11 (when the download manager was added.)

Checking Burning Edge's November archives seem to indicate 22/11 to be a good build to use but anyone else have different recommendations?

You know, you can disable the tooltips. Set browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete to false in about:config.

I love Firefox and it's about:config :) Talk about flexible ;)

Thanks for the config tip. Is there a way to prevent the download manger from coming up when installing extensions?

I'll solicit for comments also. I've been using an 11/25 build and it's OK, but there's a couple niggles that make it slightly anoying.

Can't wait for the return of the seamonky progress dialog even if it's as an extention :)

Cheers,
