HELP cant run athlonxp builds

Post by Ryoma »

hi ive tried some athlon optimized builds (GL7 O2 SSE)
among others BlueFyre's wich i read was one of the best ones

the thing is the browser wont work

i get an error when loading the .exe file

it says:

Firefox has detected and must be shut down...
or something like that
then it says error signature :

AppName: firefox.exe AppVer: 0.8.0.0 ModName: firefox.exe
ModVer: 0.8.0.0 Offset: 005af026

and then this log is created

http://usuarios.vtr.net/~mazinger/appcompat.txt

im using a athlon xp barton 2500+ (1822Mhz)
on a ASUS a7v600-x
512 MB ram kingston
Windows XP SP1 (spanish)

the offcial build works nicely
im worried about my processor not supporting SSE although all the utilities ive tried said it does
i tried aida32 and pcmak2004 sisoft sandra and some small utiulity for the command line if ound around on this forums

id apretiate some help thaks a lot

you shouldn't need any libs...
bluefyre's works great on my AXP 1800+ WinXPSP1 512mb

are the optimised builds you tried all from the same day, or are they builds from different days?
have you run: windows update or chkdisk recently? make sure windows is up to date, just to be sure (you did mention this was a fresh install. although firefox should work fine no matter what....) also, there is always a possibility that the CPU is faulty...

there is/was (?) a bug that caused firefox to crash on startup when there isn't a profile already
