That makes no sense to me. Every version of Firefox that I run opens a sidebar when you click on the toolbar bookmarks button and if you deselect Unsorted bookmarks in the extension you don't see it. So you have got something strange going on there. Of course, I use AIOS extension so I don't have a bookmarks toolbar button available.
