RIV@NVX wrote:Except two things (second was broken recently):
1. Sometimes, when I click on a link containing .rar file or paste it into the adress bar, phoenix doesn't ask me to download it, but opens it as a text/html file (I think it happens when there is http://www.someurl.something/blah.rar - this is not a correct url, lol :D).
2. When logging in to some forums, Phoenix asks to download the .php file (it is registered as octet application/stream or smthg like that).
Anyone else?

  1. It's done this for a while.
  2. Can you give a link to test?

2. This is how I got it today:
1) Went to www.driverheaven.net
2) Used "Click here to login" on the upper right corner
3) Logged in
4) It asked me to download
Hmmm... this is this forum I visit most frequently, but it should be reproducible somewhere else too.

The "download php file" has happened to me before but at random times and places. What I do is I cancel the download dialog and try again :D

I'm not sure which version the one on texturizer.net is, but from the link it looks like v0.3.5. I tried a new install, new profile, and I couldn't get mouse gestures to work under any circumstances, either left or right buttons. When I would start a gesture, the status bar wouldn't even show that I was starting a gesture.

I was, however, able to install the version from http://www.mozilla.org/projects/phoenix/extensions/ as I mentioned above, and it installed just fine, and it works just fine. This is an older version of OptiMoz, though, although I'm not entirely certain what version it is.

For those of you that got it to work, did you reinstall mouse gestures with the new build?

That's what I did too, but this is indeed a bug - not too important, but a bug :)

BTW, is anyone getting this:

Sorry, I don't have any other webspace for images, note the screwup in the marked parts. It is a bit hard to notice, but look better, yahoo doesn't allow full size images. This is what happens until you refresh the page with another window moving over Phoenix or switch to another tab and back. Anyone else getting this?

Why would you even consider to use the OS that is older and more obsolete than your computer?
See, that's just one of the reasons why I pick Linux.

Hmmm...I have a question about the build identifier. Does the Gecko version say 1.3b until Mozilla 1.3 is finalized, then for one glorious day on that trunk we have 1.3, then the next day 1.4a?

I haven't tried it yet, but that URL works with just the first part
(and it wouldn't break the frame so badly?):

a clean install, with a new profile, and reinstalled mouse gestures. they work fine without any changes .. i only changed the mouse button to the right (which i like better than the left), through about:config as the settings button is disabled in the extensions menu.
if there isn't too big a difference between the link on texturizer and the one on optimoz, i don't think this is a phoenix problem.

RIV@NVX - i don't seem to have that 'drawing' problem ...

Anyone notice that Phoenix 2003-03-12 creates a folder called "Cache.Trash" in
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt\Cache.Trash" after you clear the cache in >Tools > Options... >Privacy >Cache.

It does not happen on the 2003-03-10 or 2003-02-21 builds!
On WinXP

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030312 Phoenix/0.5

This is probably due to the fix for http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103851 Though I don't know for sure.

I've tried everything, and I can't get the mouse gestures to work at all with the new version, so I'm going to stick with the older v0.3.3. I'm a little curious as to why no one else is able to duplicate my failure, though. New build, new profile, only mouse gestures install, and I can't get it to work with the left button. Changing the button to 2 in about:config doesn't help, and it doesn't work with the right button either. I wouldn't even know what to file a bug for OptiMoz in regards to since I'm the only person here with the problem so far.

No big deal. I don't use any of the new feature of v0.3.5, anyway. Sure would like to know what's going on, though. Incidently, I've got a Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical, Windows XP SP1, and the mouse drivers v9.73.

Is this one more thing that happens only to me:
http://www.klient.com/news.php
Check the menu on the left - does it work correctly in Phoenix?
It works in Mozilla 1.3, btw.

Looks like this may be similar/same as http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196603
