Problems with javascript and DHTML (including 12-Mar-2003)

Post by Dunderklumpen »

All the latest builds have problems with javascript and DHTML. The latest build that can handle this properly is:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030304 Phoenix/0.5

We have tested alla builds from the one above and they all have the same problem with menues and stuff created with javascript, DHTML etc. etc. Even the latest build from 12-Mar-2003 09:04 have this problem.

An example would be nice as DHTML covers quite a bit.

My misstake - We have tested the versions against www.aik4ever.com - PhpNuke, scripts etc. etc. and that menu does not work in any other version than Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030304 Phoenix/0.5. It does activate the dropdown function on one headline but get stuck there. Pardon me for stating that DHTML. This is most likely not correct. However, it does have problems with scripts. Bare in mind that the example is a homepage in Swedish - and it does work fine with Opera, NetScape, Mozilla and Internet Explorer. The menuproblem seemes to be related to Phoenix.

using 2003/03/12 on WinXP Home SP1, you will see though that Phoenix in fact does have problems with http://www.brothercake.com/dropdown/index.html whereas other browsers (including my old 2003/02/10 Mozilla) have no problems with it.

This was <a href="http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197090">bug 197090</a> which was both submitted and fixed yesterday and the fix appears in today's build.

The menu themselves work for me, but rendering the page in question will result in broken tabs. By "broken tabs" I mean the tabs themselve are painted as if they were part of the Web site, erasing the tab text and background.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030315 Phoenix/0.5
Kubuntu 8.04 (kernel 2.6.24-25-generic) / KDE 3.5.10
CentOS 4.8 (kernel 2.6.9-78.0.22.ELsmp) / KDE 3.5.10
Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) / iPhone 3GS (32GB black)

Menus work but there is a small problem

Post by Goldzilla »

First of all, this page looks poorly designed whether you're using IE or Phoenix.

I'm using 03-13 and I could get the menus to display but on the far right, some of the colored rectangles showed through into the menus. Just a few pixels worth. Same deal on the far left with the stuff that it was overwriting. Probably some stuff leftover from Mozilla.

I didn't see that glitch in Crazy Browser.

Menu itself works, but the tabs get all messed up with weird graphics.

The site (www.aik4ever.com) is a community. You are supposed to log in, choose the proper theme in your own settings, and after that the menu will be placed correctly.

Whether or not you're logged on should not mess up the graphics of the tabs.
