I can figure out how to build Phoenix with CVS reading the various help files. If I wanted to build Phoenix based on the same code as an older nightly (so that I don't get some of the current bugs or the bugs around when I get around to doing it), how would I do that?
I've found where they keep the Mozilla nightly source code. Would I just build that with make and the Phoenix configuration file? I wouldn't need to use CVS for this, would I?

building
as long as we are on the subject of building, ill ask a question. i ubilt phoenix with xft support last night; however, the gui widgets are messed up. the fonts are antialiased and are the right size, but the containers (buttons and menus) are much too small to hold the font. any suggestions?
