-Release candidate shooting for tomorrow or Wed
-We need to land a few biggish changes we want to take on the 1.7 branch first
--Changes to prevent URL bar spoofing/phishing
--Find in textareas
--FTP upload
-These all landed on trunk last week
-As soon as these are in, off we go
-We've scheduled plenty of time on the branch for 1.7.

**Firefox 0.9**
-Ben has been "wasting time with web services" for the update mechanism
-He'll hopefully have something this week
-He has made a list of 1.0 targets, assigned tentative owners to them
-Now needs to persuade said owners :-)
-"Profile components" needs to be in for 0.9 (allows install of extensions per-profile)
-Also xpinstall changes (dveditz)

"We're beginning the drive to Firefox 1.0 and we need to make sure that every bug people think is important is filed in Bugzilla and has a blocking0.9? or blocking1.0? request flag set.
( Comment: Do NOT set the flag to + or -, only devs are allowed to do that ! )This will allow the FDT (heh) to develop an action plan for the milestones between now and 1.0, prioritize bugs and so on. It's essential that people start doing this now, rather than later, otherwise bugs might slip through the cracks!" Further details are available in here

The Official Win32 2004-05-03 build is out.
The previous Official Win32 build was 2004-05-02

If you find problems/bugs:
  1. Post them in this thread
  2. Properly describe the problem
  3. Include the url where you have the problem (if this is the case)
  4. Include the "about mozilla firefox" information (under the help button)
  5. Installer build or .zip version?
  6. Did you completely erase the Firefox directory first?
  7. Does a new profile fix the problem?
  8. Include the list of extensions you have installed (preferably none to start with)
This makes it a lot easier for others to duplicate your problem.

I hope Adblock will be converted as soon as 0.9 branches, the rest I can do without for a while.

Looks nice. Probably worth doing a build tomorrow. I'm snowed under with work this week and am logged in at work so I can't do a pull but should be able to grab a few hours of sleep and do the pull while I'm sleeping.

It just keeps getting better.

Can someone confirm this, if so a bug has to be submitted .

I guess things are looking up. I don't see a lot of changes, but then again it don't look like they broke anything major.

When the Extension Manager is fully active, I hope that Ben announces it VERY LOUDLY so that the extension authors can repackage/rewrite their extensions as needed. Otherwise Firefox 0.9 will fall flat on its face as the extension authors rush to update their extensions, having not been informed in time.

It's best not to expect much of extensions the day FF0.9 is released.
Hopefully we'll have the most essential ones w/i weeks.

It means that there will be few extensions that'll work when FF0.9 is released,
The extensions in trunk builds will work for a while.

Of course, that green isn't replacing any of the RED we've been seeing, but is showing mostly fixes for other bugs.

That said, anybody know if Talkback is working in this build?
What about "unofficial" builds? Only on some OS's?

Thanks.

I'd think the extension "authors" would be testing concurrently now against the trunk builds, so as to keep up with where they should be.

Perhaps Mozilla Corporation needs to specify or only allow .9 approved extensions, so that older and out of date ones CAN'T be installed on .9 version.
