4/22 Build on Linux

Post by Alienyak »

The bookmark issues seem to be fixed with the latest version, however, I am not able to click on the links in the menu at:

http://texturizer.net/firebird/index.html

and go to their respective pages. Is anyone else having this same problem? Also, when I try and go to http://my.netscape.com I get the error:

Bad request
Your browser sent a query this server could not understand.

I can go to www.netscape.com just fine.
It seems that if any of the addresses are not formed with the www.whatever.com they do not work. I even deleted my old user account and created a new one after removing all Phoenix/Firebird files and then reinstalling in the same place. I also have version 20030416 installed and I have no problem clicking on the links at the Firebird Help Site. Do I need to file this as a bug????

Anyway, good to see the new Windows version up.

I don't have either of the above problems (4/22-04, XP). Links work and the Netscape page loads just fine.

Jason, this is probably because Alienyak uses Firebird

Well, in that case, he posted to the wrong place. Let me just move this discussion...

Okay, let me be more specific... Mozilla Firebird version 20030422 nightly build for Linux. I am running Mandrake 9.0 and Windows 2000.

Here is the info for my Windows version: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030422 Firebird™ Browser/0.5+. Please try the following link if you have this new version and let me know if it works for you:

http://my.netscape.com/

because even in the Windows version I am getting an error and this is what I am getting:

Bad request
Your browser sent a query this server could not understand.

I am having no problem with this in Netscape 7.02, IE 6.0, and Mozilla 1.3. So, am I the only one having this problem???

I'm also seeing the same problem with the same build. This build (20030422 Linux) is seriously borked. Scrolling with a wheel mouse is *incredibly* sluggish as well. I'm also having problems with opening bookmarks from the bookmarks toolbar (but not the sidebar) using a middle click.

I think it's the ™ in the name of the useragent. Check it in about:config >> general.useragent.vendor

set it to "firebird"

Ok, the sluggish scrolling issue is a result of having set general.smoothScroll to "true" by default. To rectify the problem, open up about:config and change it to "false". I've filed a bug on this as well:
